Brief
Milwaukee Art Museum is located on the shore of Lake Michigan. The architecture directly reflects the motion of waves in the lake and has to often withstand the harsh winds and climate. The Milwaukee Art Museum also collects and preserves art, presenting it to the community as a vital source of inspiration and education.
The logo is based on the Quadracci Pavilion structure that is wing like to expand and collapses depending on the amount of sunlight needed and the speed of the wind. The three angles that the logo form are based on the angle of sunlight that hits the museum during Spring, Summer and Fall. The color palette is derived from the reflection of city colors in the Lake Michigan itself.
